Welcome!

My name is Melanie Ressler and I am the School Counselor at Hallettsville Elementary School. I am excited to be working with all student at HES and in helping develop and support their academic, career, and social/emotional learning needs.

I will have the opportunity to work with students throughout the year through group lessons which will help develop and build their social and emotions skills

Social and Emotional Learning

Hallettsville Elementary uses the Second Step Program for Pre-K through Grade 2. The program is a universal, classroom-based program designed to increase students school success and decrease problem behaviors by promoting social-emotional competence, manage emotions, and solve problems. Equipping students with Second Step skills creates a safer, more respectful learning environment that promotes school success for all.
