WELCOME!
My name is Melanie Ressler and I am the School Counselor at Hallettsville Elementary. This is my 15th year in Education and my 4th year as a School Counselor. I am excited to be working with all the students at HES in helping develop and support their academic, career, and social/emotional learning needs.
I will have the opportunity to work with students throughout the year through group lessons which will help develop and build their social and emotional skills.
Social and Emotional Learning
Hallettsville Elementary uses the Second Step Program for Pre-K through Grade 2. The program is a universal, classroom-based program designed to increase students school success and decrease problem behaviors by promoting social-emotional competence and self-regulation. It teaches skills that strengthen students ability to learn, have empathy, manage emotions, and solve problems. Equipping students with Second Step skills creates a safer, more respectful learning environment that promotes school success for all.
