Gifted and Talented Program
Hallettsville ISD is committed to an educational program that recognizes the special needs and talents of the individual student. HISD provides appropriate educational services for identified gifted and talented students as part of its overall K-12 program.
The gifted program takes a multidisciplinary approach at the elementary level. Students are provided services through differentiation in the classroom. Gifted and Talented students in K-4th grade, meet once a week with ART/GT teacher, Debbie Higgins. The focus is to provide enrichment and project based learning.
Gifted and Talented Referrals
"Students who participate in services designed for gifted students will demonstrate skills in self-directed learning, thinking, research, and communication as evidenced by the development of innovative products and performances that are advanced in relation to students of similar age, experience, or environment and reflect individuality and creativity."
